Galaxy Note

Posted by admin on Saturday, June 30, 2012

Released around the same time last year, Samsung's Galaxy Note and Galaxy Nexus were, at the time, two of the most impressive smartphone on the market. Even with a number of manufacturers announcing their high tech new flagship phones recently, they can still hold their own thanks to their impressive spec lists. In this article I will look at the similarities and differences of some of the devices' key features.

Screen

Both the Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy Note boast some of the best touchscreens out there in terms of their resolutions as well as the Super AMOLED capacitive technology. Only recently have we seen competitors offering similar screens on their smartphones. The Sony Xperia S, and a number of HTC phones like the HTC One X which was recently unveiled at MWC 2012 in Barcelona incorporate the same resolutions and technology found on the screens of the Nexus and Galaxy Note. At 720x 1280, the resolution of the Galaxy Nexus is able to display HD content like movies and games, while the same is true of the Galaxy Note, which even sports a higher pixel resolution of 800x 1280. Amazingly, this increased pixel resolution is on a larger screen, which measures 5.3 inches, making the Galaxy Note something of a hybrid between a smartphone and a tablet. Given the fact that this whopping pixel resolution of found on such a large screen means that on paper at least, the Note boasts the most advanced touchscreen of any smartphone in the world.

Camera

Both the Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy Note have impressive rear facing built in digital cameras. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus has a 5 megapixel camera, which may seem a little low for a modern smartphone, but improvements in lens technology means that despite its relatively low pixel count is it still capable of capturing high quality still images, and unusually for a 5 megapixel camera can even capture 1080p HD video footage. The Samsung Galaxy Note boasts an 8 megapixel camera, which as you can imagine produces higher image quality. Both phones offer the ability to capture HD video, as well as the standard features such as autofocus, touch focus, image stabilisation, LED flash and face & smile detection.

Galaxy Mini

Posted by admin on Wednesday, June 20, 2012

It is now more or less a customary thing to bring out a smaller version of your bigger handset. Samsung has only followed this logic while bringing out the Samsung Galaxy Mini. The one major issue with launching Mini phone handsets is that they should have the right mix of smart phone features and also should be selling at a far lower price than what their bigger cousin is available at. It is a balancing act that the mobile phone makers are required to perfect. Samsung seems to have done more than a reasonable job with the Samsung Galaxy Mini. In that there are no major compromise with the features and the prices are also well within the reach of the average buyer here.

The Samsung Galaxy Mini is also lined up for launch in the first quarter of 2011 along with so many other smart phone handsets by the South Korean mobile phone giant. Most of these smart phones by Samsung carries the famed Galaxy branding. The Mini handset under discussion also has the Galaxy tag attached very much to it and even a cursory look at its features reveals that it is one of the finest third generation phone device to be hitting the mobile phone market place.

Samsung has given the Mini everything possible in terms of data networking and internet browsing speeds obtained. GPRS, EDGE, HSPDA, wi-fi and blue-tooth technology all are present in ample measure. Memory wise, it is possible to raise the storage space to a good 32 GB simply by inserting the micro SD card in the memory slot given. The TFT capacitive touchscreen brings alive whatever the user throws on it.

Floppy Disk

Posted by admin on Sunday, June 10, 2012

Floppy disks were invented during the early days of the personal computer and before the development of the Internet to the levels of where it is today. At the time, they were the best way to transfer data from one computer to another, but there have been plenty of better portable storage innovations since the time of the floppy. There were similar means of transferring data created before it, but there had never been such a small and compact way to hold computer files in your hand. Floppy disks are still available today and some people are not quite ready to move on to the technological advancements, even though a disk is very likely to have to go through some kind of floppy recovery at some point during the time it's being used. These diskettes are well known for having problems relating to data loss and complete disk failure, which leads users to trying various different floppy disk recovery techniques. While some floppy recovery methods can work at home, you usually have to pay for an expert if you really want your data restored. The best way to avoid having to pay a floppy disk recovery professional is to prevent the problems in the first place by taking good care of your disks.

While it is unlikely that you have some magnets laying around near your container of floppy disks, it should be noted that doing so will have horrendous effects of the floppy diskettes. Magnets can alter your disks in a negative way because the data on the disks is stored in magnetic fields. Even brief exposure to a powerful magnet can end up erasing data from a floppy, although it usually takes long-term exposure to cause the need for floppy recovery. If you have exposed your disks to magnets in the past, you may have to contact a floppy disk recovery specialist to see if they can retrieve your lost data. Like most other pieces of computer equipment, you should never let your floppy disks become moist. Moisture and electronics have never mixed well and the floppy is no exception. Water and damp places are a recipe for destruction and will quickly have you on the phone calling a floppy recovery professional. The most obvious way you can take good care of your floppy disks is to never bend or break them. Floppy disks get their name from being able to bend a little bit in each direction, but they will break in half if you go to far when testing their limitations. Handle them delicately whenever you use them because they can snap if you put too much pressure on one side of the disk. Also, remember to be careful when you are writing on your floppy with a pen because if you press down too hard, this can also cause problems for your disk's ability to read data. Problems involving a physically broken disc are much less likely to be able to be fixed by a floppy recovery specialist.

Microsoft Surface

The CEO of Microsoft (MS FT) named Steve Ballmer, revealed Microsoft tablets which are to be called 'Surface'. It is quite a strong entry from Microsoft as an ipad competitor and above from the expectations and assumptions of analysts.

COVERS OF MS SURFACE

Two types of covers are made for MS Surface, i.e. the Touch Cover and the other is Type Cover. These both models operate using the same multi-touch digitizer. MS Surface is powered by Intel 22nm Ivy Bridge chips and ARM chip set. Both devices has 3mm pressure sensitive magnetic cover which provides an option to type. These Microsoft Surface tablets weigh 2lbs, less than two pounds and according to Microsoft, it is the first PC ever that has PVD magnesium case. This exterior magnesium alloy surface seems smooth to touch and finely finished.

COVER-CUM-KEYBOARD

The MS Surface tablets has bright hue keyboards. It can be said that it has a protective cover-cum-keyboard. According to Panos Panay, the leader of the team that created the Microsoft Surface, named Steive Bathiche (researcher) developed the Touch Cover Technology at Microsoft.

The cover of MS Surface is a biggest innovation but the keyboard could be a critical feature for the people who use the tablet for creating spreadsheets or documents or other types of written content.

The new MS Surface includes tablet features but offers a wide screen at 10.6 inches and a cover that flips to become a cool keyboard and can be folded back while still connected, which Microsoft said is 10 times faster than any keyboard in use today.

New iPad vs MS SURFACE

The New iPad vs MS Surface is "something new, something different, a whole new family of computing devices from Microsoft", said Steve Ballmer.

The Microsoft Surface tablet is a big news and it will provide buyers a choice between the MS Surface and the iPad. To some extent, Microsoft Surface as an iPad competitor may revolutionize how we use tablet computers altogether.
