iPhone 3GS and previous all use 320px(w) x 480px(h) at 160dpi where as the current iPhone 4 'retina' display uses the a higher resolution screen at a pixel density of two. Meaning that there are two pixels used for every one pixel used in previous models giving the iPhone 4 a resolution of 640px(w) x 960px(h) at 320dpi.
Understanding resolution is important when deciding on wall papers as lower resolution images lead to poor quality on the screen. So when selecting a wallpaper you should always ensure that the resolution of the image is always higher or matching to the device that you are applying them to.

Congratulations! You got yourself an Apple iPhone. You finally have managed to buy one of the snazziest purchases of the decade! You sure might have sat there looking at it for a while, gazing at this sleek piece of technological wonder and its high-tech novelty with awe and admiration Groovy! You take it in your hands, feel the smooth material, switch it on, and hold it with pride and great enthusiasm.
Up till now, it has managed to hold your attention and make you feel good about owning it. You show it off to all your relatives and even the next-door neighbor. But then, the same iPhone tumbles over the edge of the table and you are flabbergasted! Its only then its hits you that you have invested $500 dollars (or could be more) on this little wonder and you have to safeguard this dear investment from being dropped, scratched or broken. Pronto! Do you really want to build an iPhone app?
This might sound like a daft question at first. But I want to make sure that you have fully explored your target audience and considered whether it would be more suitable to launch an app on the Blackberry or Android platform.
If you have your mind set on an iPhone app, then I urge you to also consider what happens when it is a success? Yes, I am assuming that your iPhone application will be a success because they are growing so rapidly. Will the agency you use be able to launch a similar app on the other platforms so as not to alienate consumers? Will you choose to combine your iPhone app with perhaps a mobile website that would allow all other smartphone users to access your content?

I have managed many website and iPhone application projects and one of the mistakes I regularly come across is managers that are too reliant on the designers. I suggest that as part of your initial brief you really look into all the different types of iPhone apps that are within your market. If there are no iPhone apps then simply look at what you like. Apple Connect is a website used by your iPhone application developer. It is basically a website that holds the details of your app and is used to send your iPhone app binary code to Apple for them to approve... if you are lucky (I'll get to that in a moment)

With the iPhone 4S on the market it's only natural to question whether you should buy that or the older model iPhone 4. I didn't have this option when I purchased the iPhone 4 because the 4S wasn't out at the time, and by the time you purchase your iPhone there will probably be about 10 other newer versions out. Of course I'm kidding but apple do tend to release a new iPhone every year.
